Council has invested $25,000 towards field remediation works at Hickey Park. These works include improvements to drainage, turf coverage and surface-level issues. This means the field will be in top condition for the Women’s Brisbane Lions team, who will now be able to host a home match in Brisbane for the first time in February!

This project will also allow other organisations including the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL), the Queensland Australian Football League Women’s (QWAFL) and the Brisbane Juniors Australian Football League to make use of the fields at Hickey Park.

Yesterday Deputy Mayor Adrian Schrinner and I stopped by Hickey Park to celebrate this achievement with the Women’s Brisbane Lions team.
