New Geebung recycling facility
This week the Containers for Change QLD scheme launched. This initiative is all about encouraging Queenslanders to recycle beverage containers to reduce litter. You can now collect beverage containers and take them to one of 230 new container refund points in Queensland. You will receive a 10 cent refund for each eligible container returned.
It’s so exciting that one of these facilities is located in Geebung. This week TOMRA Collection launched one of their state-of-the-art recycling facilities at 428 Bilsen Road. This facility will feature a number of ‘reverse vending machines’ for containers. I’m sure this scheme will help to keep plastics out of our greenspaces and waterways.
